MY HEARTLAND 1

My thoughts scream silently in my headMy pillow, soaked wet with tears and sweatI think about her, all the timeAbout how she put their bliss aheadAnd hers she didn't heedTo think she was doing them a favorYet, they so abuse her laborIn their power drunk stupor and greed filled eyesThey rape and rob her of her beauty and wealthYet they forget; they cheat themselvesLike the miser, they snatch it all up to fill their barns and silosYet they discern not; morning might meet them notAs the rich fool of the good old bookIf only in their plundering, they will leave some for their chargesBut no, they are too self-centeredA people they swore to protectThey strip them! They trample upon them! They slay them!Forgetting, that they are a part of them.
